Comprehensive Guide to ZOYI ZT-703S (Part 12)Introduction to Oscilloscope Functions Format & backlight time setting

Oscilloscope is an essential tool for anyone working with electronic signals, and understanding how to manage their settings can greatly enhance your efficiency. ZT-703S oscilloscope multi-meter is our latest products. Many users are not very familiar with its functions.

In this blog, we’ll continue focus on two important features: formatting the oscilloscope to clear saved waveform images and adjusting the backlight time to optimize power usage.

Formatting the Oscilloscope

Used for a long time, your oscilloscope may accumulate saved waveform images that you no longer need. To keep your device organized and free up memory, you can format it. Here’s how:

  1. Enter the Fifth Page of the Extended Function Menu: Navigate to the fifth page of the extended function menu.
  2. Press F3 to Format: Select the format option by pressing F3.
  3. Clear Saved Waveform Images: Once the formatting process is complete, all saved waveform images will be cleared from the memory.

This feature is particularly useful when you need to start fresh or when the memory is full, ensuring your oscilloscope is ready for new data.

Adjusting Backlight Time

The backlight setting on your oscilloscope can be adjusted to suit your working conditions and conserve power. Here’s how to set the backlight off time:

  1. Enter the Fifth Page of the Extended Function Menu: Navigate to the fifth page of the extended function menu.
  2. Press F4 to Set Backlight Time: Select the backlight time option by pressing F4.
  3. Choose the Desired Duration: You can set the backlight to turn off after 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 120 seconds, or keep it on indefinitely.

Adjusting the backlight time is especially useful in environments where power conservation is important or when you need to reduce screen glare during extended use.

Practical Tips

  • Regular Formatting: Periodically format your oscilloscope to keep it running smoothly and to free up memory for new measurements.
  • Optimize Backlight Settings: Adjust the backlight time based on your working environment and usage patterns to balance visibility and power consumption.

By mastering these settings, you can ensure that ZT-703S oscilloscope multi-meter remains a reliable and efficient tool for all your electronic measurement needs.
